C:3 Counseling Grant

We Believe:

All students can and will learn with the support of family, school, and community.

All students exemplify a variety of talents and learning styles.

All students have value and worth.

The C:3  Counselors Impacting Charter Communities (2009-2012) Federal Grant provides full-time counselors in four Tucson charter schools.  The counselors create systemic change by implementing the ASCA (American School Counseling Association) National Model, PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention Support), and SFCP (School, Family, Community Project, by Joyce Epstein) in each  school.  Academic scores rise, attendance improves, positive behaviors increase, and family involvement expands.  Elementary counselors make a difference.
The Elementary Counselor in the school is paramount for student success!

Student Success is defined…

  • Academic Support
  • Family Involvement
  • Homework Help
  • Tutoring
  • Attending School Conferences
  • Teacher/Staff Support
  • Positive Behavior Management
  • Classroom Management
  • Guidance in Family Changes
  • Community Outreach
  • Life Long Learning Classes

In accordance with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model, the C:3 Grant Counselors are in the classroom 55% of the time, delivering classroom guidance lessons.  They are available for responsive services, which include crisis counseling, family & student issues and concerns.  With System Support, the school counselor is the bridge that connects the school to the community, closing the gap by working together.  Individual Planning is working with individual students to promote academic planning and success.
